Helotes Humane Society has been in existance a little over a year and is already setting the example for other groups in our area. HHS has the most dedicated volunteer base with 100% of funds going directly to support their programs. Their unique concept of housing adoptable animals in private homes has resulted in more successful adoptions. For such a small group, they have done amazing things.

I've never seen a group of more dedicated people towards providing and ensuring the welfare of these animals. By opening their own homes through a foster system, they really do go above and beyond to find these animals forever homes.

The Helotes Humane Society is a small group of dedicated volunteers who provide a foster program and community outreach in the way of education, pet food support and a neutering program to needy families. Helotes Humane Society has been in existence for a year now and our fosterers have adopted out over 250 animals!

We care about the animals. We work real hard to find homes for the animals. We have a pet food bank, which offers food to people that are in financial difficulties and can't feed their pets. This keeps pets in their homes and not surrendered to shelters. We have a program that offers free spay/neuter to families who cannot afford to have it done. We are all volunteers with no physical shelter (yet) so all our animals are in foster care. We have a great team of volunteers.1 2 3 4
